Resurrection Rest

We’re coming up on the celebration of the most important event in human history – the death and resurrection of Jesus. There is nothing more powerful, nothing more wonderful, and nothing more life-changing.

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15:14 “And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.” The resurrection is the key in our salvation. While Jesus’s death was the sacrifice for our sin, it meant nothing without the resurrection.  It was His power over death that destroyed it, that allows us to cry out “Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15: 54b-55)

I know I get excited over each new book I write, but this is truly exciting. In Resolution Room I was able to explore God’s timing in our lives and Sweetheart Suite allowed me to show what true love really is, but now in Resurrection Rest I get to celebrate the power of the resurrection.

Gerard Truman comes to Holliday Hotel distraught because his sister, Stacie, is deathly ill. At the clinic he finds her in such a serious state that the doctor recommends saying his good-byes, and letting her pass.

Dr. Eva Livingston is a capable physician, although she is also arrogant and lacking in compassion. There’s something about the Truman family that confounds her though, and she begins to wish there was something more she could do to help. But for Eva to see God, it’s going to take a miracle.

All of us come to God through the miracle of Jesus’s death and resurrection. There is no other way to God. We experience our own resurrection when we come to Christ. Ephesians 2:4-7 says, “But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—  and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” We were dead, but now we are alive because of His grace.

If you’ve never experienced that power, I pray that this Easter season you will understand the importance of the resurrection so that you can experience true life.
